He made my old shears sharpen better than new — after another sharpener had made a mess of them.
Sharpen Something is a one-person sharpening operation based in Northampton, MA. I started sharpening in 2018, built a following at Pioneer Valley farmers markets, and went full-time direct-to-business in 2023.
Every blade that comes through goes through my hands personally. For knives, I use grinders for repair and bevel work, then finish by hand on my TSProf K04 — a precision guided system that holds exact angles. For shears, I work on a whetstone with a Katoku Kleen finish. Clipper blades go through a Nebraska Blades machine.
What I take the most pride in: clear communication, fast turnaround, and standing behind the work. If you're not satisfied, I'll make it right.
Outside the Pioneer Valley? We're happy to travel — just note that routes beyond 30 miles may require additional turnaround time. Ask us and we'll work something out.
